Coach Adams has his USSF National “D” coaching license and NSCAA State Diploma. He has coached and trained all levels of soccer for 20 years. Coach Adams is currently an Analyst in Corporate Insurance at U.S. Bank in Minneapolis.

 

Prior to RHS, Coach Adams was the JV assistant women’s soccer coach for two years at Apple Valley High School. Before that, Coach Adams was the Varsity women’s coach at St. Croix Lutheran High School for two seasons. He was also the women’s Varsity assistant at Visitation High School for 2 years and the Varsity Assistant for 2 years at Henry Sibley High School. Coach Adams was also the boy’s Varsity assistant coach at St. Thomas Academy from 1998-2000. During his tenure at St. Thomas, the boys qualified for the State Tournament in 1998 and 1999, taking 3rd in 1998 and 2nd in 1999.

In addition to his high school coaching experience, Coach Adams has 18 years experience coaching club soccer including girls’ premiere teams. Coach Adams has been involved with Rosemount Traveling Soccer, Valley United, Dakota Rev, Tonka United, Bangu, the Sibley Sting, and Burnsville Fire. Coach Adams was also was also the RAAA in-house soccer director in the 1990’s.

Coach Adams has lived in the area since 1987. He played soccer at St. Thomas Academy and in adult leagues. Coach Adams is married with a son and daughter who both played soccer through High School. His daughter will continue her playing at the collegiate level.

Nicole Tompkins – Assistant Varsity

Nicole Tompkins is a 1988 graduate of RHS.  She was a 3 sport athlete playing soccer, basketball and softball for the IRISH. She was named All-Conference, All-State, All-Metro, and All-Region in all 3 sports.  As a soccer player she was also named player of the year and an All-American candidate. 

 

Nicole started playing soccer at the age of 7 playing for Rosemount, Apple Valley and Bangu traveling programs.  She played for the Minnesota State Select team and continued on playing for St. Mary’s and the Minnesota Lightning.

Nicole was an assistant Varsity soccer coach at Visitation High School for five years.  She was previously coaching at Black Hawk Middle School.  She has her “D” coaching license and is currently assisting her daughters U11 Dakota Rev soccer team.

Nicole is very excited to be back another season at RHS.

Gretchen Stramel – JV

My name is Gretchen Stramel and I am the Junior Varsity Coach.  I graduated from Rosemount High School in 1997 and was a member of the soccer team where I served as a captain my senior year.  I received All-Conference and All-State honors my senior year as well as the Athena Award.  After high school I attended the University of St. Thomas where I continued playing soccer as a four-year starter in the MIAC.  I served as a captain my junior and senior year at St. Thomas and was named All-Conference Honorable Mention my senior year.

 

I have coaching experience at a variety of different levels.  During college I coached for the Minneapolis Kickers U-12 and U-14.  I have coached middle school 6th and 7th grade girls at Nativity School in St. Paul where I currently teach 8th grade English and literature and I also spent three seasons as the assistant coach at the University of St. Thomas.

 

I look forward to being part of the Rosemount Soccer program and working with the talented athletes.

Kristin Wros has her "D" coaching license as well as her regional goalkeeper coaching certificate, and this is her first year working with the 9B team.  Kristin is currently a Program Secretary at the Minnesota Historical Society and lives in St. Paul, MN.

 

Kristin started playing recreational soccer when she was 5 years old in River Falls, WI, where she went on to play three years on the high school varsity team as their goalkeeper, earning All-conference honorable mention her senior year.  During her four years playing for the College of St. Catherine, Kristin played goalkeeper for the first two years and then moved on to play on the field.  Since college, she has continued playing soccer in the MWSL during their summer and fall seasons.

 

Over the years, Kristin has coached for many different clubs and at many levels, including as an assistant for both the River Falls U-17 C2 Girls and the Wings U-17 C1 Girls teams.  She is very excited to join the Rosemount team, and hopes to assist the girls and other coaches in a successful season!

Jeanne Ewen is a physical education teacher and this will be her fourth year at Rosemount High School. Before Rosemount, Jeanne taught at Diamond Path Elementary school. She has received multiple teaching awards, including Physical Education Teacher of the Year, the District 196 Outstanding Service Award, and the Paul Smidt award for her contribution to her field. She has been a strong advocate for improving student fitness and has presented workshops at the state and national level.
Jeanne has a Class "C" coaching license and has coached several  seasons for Dakota Rev. In the summer, she works as a certified  referee for summer soccer programs. She was the co-head varsity  volleyball coach at Rosemount before taking the position as head  coach of the varsity boys' tennis team. She also coached high school basketball, track and field and has worked with offseason conditioning programs.
