Around a year ago, we began a process of reflection here at Media Two – looking at the values that truly make up our culture and the shared virtues and principles that have been the constant drivers of our success. A quarter century of ups and downs offered a lot to look at, but the pandemic really put a microscope on the attributes that have mattered most.
Today is March 3rd. It’s officially National Employee Appreciation Day, and I see no better opportunity than now to offer my thoughts on those values. My purpose in writing this is twofold. First and foremost, I’d like to express just how grateful I am to everyone here at Media Two and why. Secondly, I hope that in posting this openly, perhaps my feelings will inspire others to do the same. So, I challenge anyone in a leadership role to step back from the board room (today and every day) and appreciate what’s at the heart of any business – the people.
To the team at Media Two, I’ve never been more appreciative than I am right now. You guys are just AWESOME! There’s no way I can put all my thoughts and emotions into words here, but I’m going to try. Please bear with me since you all know I tend to be wordy, but I have a lot for which to be thankful.
I’m thankful for the level of trust and support we’ve all built for each other. We’re in this together, and we know that we all play a role in holding each other up. Not a day goes by that I don’t hear someone say, “What can I do to help?” and mean it from the bottom of their heart.
I’m thankful for your adaptability, resourcefulness, and inquisitiveness. It keeps me on my toes, keeps me asking questions, keeps me energized for the future, and builds stronger bonds with our clients. I’m constantly humbled by how smart this collective team is, and you continue to become smarter by the day.
I’m thankful for how attentive and detail-oriented you all are. In such a fast-paced industry with so many platforms, technologies, and changing objectives, it’s easy to cut corners, skip steps, or downplay the importance of process and attention to detail. Mistakes can build upon mistakes, but that simply doesn’t and hasn’t happened. This is a cornerstone of the trust we have for each other and the trust our clients have for us.
And most of all, I’m thankful for how passionate and driven you all are. There’s been an unmistakable desire to be the best we can be – to be successful for our clients and for ourselves. It permeates every conversation, every meeting, and every strategy. That drive is fuel for the fire that keeps us doing what we do AND loving it! It’s infectious, and it’s fun.
So from the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone here at Media Two. Today and every day, you are appreciated. You truly are a special team, and I’m eternally grateful for each and every one of you.
